About MatchIQ
MatchIQ is an independent football game hub built by two brothers who love the sport and love arguing about it. This page explains who we are, what we make, and how the games work.
Who makes MatchIQ
MatchIQ is built by Marco and Pedro Pereira, two brothers and lifelong football fans who turned the debates they were already having into games they could play every day. Marco is a software developer with a background in web applications; Pedro brings design and editorial instincts from years of writing about the sport. You can find Marco on GitHub at github.com/MarcoPereira27.
What we make
We build quick, free-to-play football games: PriceTag for transfer fees, GroundIQ for stadium recognition, TimeLineup for football history, TikiTaka for passing puzzles, NameTen for football top tens, and Possession for 1v1 quiz duels. Each one focuses on a single idea and is designed to be finished in a few minutes and then shared.
Where our content comes from
Our questions are built from real football data: reported transfer fees, real stadiums and their home clubs, and historical moments that actually happened. TikiTaka is the exception, because its puzzles are generated fresh each day and machine-checked to have exactly one solution. We review and refresh this content regularly so the games stay accurate and keep giving you something new to play.
How the games stay free
MatchIQ is free to play. We keep the lights on with lightweight advertising and we run an open community on Discord where players suggest improvements, report mistakes, and help shape what we build next.
Get in touch
We read everything. If you have found a mistake, have an idea for a new game, or just want to talk football, the contact page has our email and a link to the community.
